Good wedding editorial can be either aspirational or inspirational – the latter, usually delivering relatable and achievable styling ideas and suggestions that can be replicated on your own wedding day.
It’s with this in mind that we share this particular set of images with you today. Captured at Fulham Palace, a grand, historic building and wedding venue located on the banks of the River Thames, the editorial team, which involved two Love My Dress recommended suppliers; Blue Sky Flowers and Morgan Davies Bridal, set out to create an intimate wedding setting with effortless, pretty and elegant detail focussed around flowers and fashion.
Words from Caroline of Caroline Siân Weddings & Events, who styled these images, follow. Enjoy!
Location & Vision
The aim of this editorial shoot was to create the story of a couple who wanted an intimate London wedding, styled with natural florals balanced with a contemporary feel.
Fulham Palace in London was chosen as the venue. Better known for hosting larger weddings in their marquee the venue also offers beautiful intimate spaces which suited our couple’s day perfectly.
It presents a distinct blend of beautiful grounds with a central London location whilst also being convenient for international guests.
Statement Floral Arch
Working with Liz, of Blue Sky Flowers, I started with a desire to create a statement arch in the Palace’s stunning courtyard.
This would be an impressive first impression for guests and also served as a beautiful backdrop for our couples’ portraits and displaying the cake by Anna Lewis Cakes .
A Secret Ceremony Space
One of Fulham Palace’s best kept secrets is their intimate chapel which was utilised for the ceremony. Dating from 1867, few know of this beautiful chapel with its stunning features including gold-leaf mosaics and stained-glass windows.
The chapel was simply dressed with a floral pedestal display and a meadow runner to adorn the aisle.
A little extra pop of colour was provided through the candles and the embroidered ribbon place cards by The Embroidered Napkin Company which adorned the menu cards by Millie Stone UK who also provided the table numbers, favour boxes and the welcome sign.
Photography & Videography
Photography was by Rebecca Goddard who captured the day in a relaxed and unobtrusive way, documenting the day as it unfolded naturally. Rebecca got the honest reactions and tender moments between our couple beautifully.
Rebecca’s unobtrusive approach was echoed by our videographer, David James, of We are the James’s.
