At Tanis Emmett Wedding Style, we recommend bustles on a case by case basis, but we primarily use two types of bustles – the over bustle and under bustle. The over bustle is primarily used for ballgown wedding dresses with full layers of tulle or chiffon. The under bustle is primarily used for fit and flare gowns and wedding dresses and does not change the look of the dress when it’s time to bustle. We recommend leaving your train down for the ceremony’s grand entrance or procession and some portraits but bustling your train before the reception so wedding guests don’t accidentally step on your dress and so that you can enjoy your first dance as a married couple.
